FIGHT TRADER QUESTIONS:
What made you want to become a fighter?
My first encounter with mixed martial arts happened back in 1993, when Royce Gracie showed the world that the smaller guy can win, and that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was the most effective martial art in the world. I played baseball my whole life and never trained any martial arts until i was 19 years old, while i was working at a bagel bakery and attending college. A friend of mine, who came into my work, had two black eyes. I asked him about what happened to him and he told me he trained mma. I was a huge fan so i knew what that meant and began training. Four months later I had my first MMA fight and havent stopped since.
What would you tell someone wanting to start a career in MMA?
Train as hard as you possibly can. Train a lot and compete as often as possible. Try to do every kind of sport possible boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, and Brazilian jiu jitsu.
Also, there will be many people who try to tell you that you won’t be able to accomplish your goals. You have to ignore these people as motivation to complete your goals and rub it in their face.
Who is your favorite fighter?
BJ Penn
