Rob Emerson Predicts 2nd Round KO of Phillipe Nover at UFC 109!

January 21, 2010

Fight Trader: You’re living in California now, is that where you do you’re training as well? Rob Emerson: Yeah, for the most part down here in Orange County; I kind of just bounce around.   I hit up like four, five gyms through out the day, and then when B.J. (Penn) is in town for his fights, we train at this gym right by my house. FT: That’s amazing.  So, he was your coach on the Ultimate Fighter (reality) show, right? Emerson: Yeah, that’s where I met him at.   FT: And you’ve stayed close ever since and you train with him? Eme read more...

Interview with UFC’s Matt Brown!

December 28, 2009

Matt Brown made a name for himself during his appearance on the Ultimate Fighter reality series as a skilled, determined fighter who carried the intensity he showed inside the octagon around the house with him, brewing just under the surface, ready to be unleashed.  He made it clear that he was not there to make friends, or make a name for himself with a contrived star power persona full of funny quirks to allure fans that way.  No.  He was there to kick ass.  Period.    What I expected to come across upon interviewing him was the hardas read more...

The Ultimate Fighter 10 Season Finale

December 7, 2009

The conclusion to Season 10 of the Ultimate Fighter, the “Ultimate Finale,” was an action packed night.  Here’s what happened in case you missed it:  First up, two former NFL players, Matt Mitrione and Marcus Jones squared off, with Matt chalking up an impressive win over the bigger and stronger Jones, keeping Marcus from getting him to the ground where Marcus has made mince meat out of opponents by overpowering them, whereas standing up, Marcus doesn’t quite have the chops yet.  He literally fell down like a big tree.  “Timber! read more...

The Ultimate Fighter 10 Episode 11

December 5, 2009

Highlights from this week’s two-hour episode of The Ultimate Fighter include: Rashad and Rampage got in each other’s faces again, both times with Rashad being the aggressor. It would be great for Rampage to come out of “retirement” and beat the crap out of this guy. McSweeney continued to harass Zak, this time writing something anti-gay on his head, and then locking him inside the bathroom. Other houseguests commented that Zak needs to stick up for himself, and after the bathroom thing he finally did, coming out kicking. McSweeney has a read more...

The Ultimate Fighter 10 Episode 10

November 23, 2009

Here are the highlights from episode 10 of The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights. - Matt Mitrione continued his bellyaching about his phantom head injury, claiming that he had swelling of his brain. Everyone is annoyed with this guy because he either needs to fight or not fight, and it has nothing to do with any injuries and everything to do with his determination. I mean, there is something wrong with his brain, but if you have watched more than an episode or two, you know that it is apparent there was brain stuff going on with this fella well be read more...

The Ultimate Fighter 10 Episode 9

November 23, 2009

Here’s what went down in the latest episode of Spike’s The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights. - Rampage continues to play pranks, this time sneaking chickens into the opposing coaches’ cars, and they pooped all over their interiors. Surprisingly, Rashad and his staff saw the humor on it, shocking even Rampage, and the two rival coaches seemed to be actually getting along laughing and chasing after the farm animals. - The always-annoying needy crybaby Matt Mitrione (how any NFL coach put up with this guy is something that astounds us) played read more...

The Ultimate Fighter 10 Episode 8

November 9, 2009

In the latest episode of Spike’s The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights, coach Rampage Jackson was down to his final fighter, the massive gentle giant and ex pro football player, Marcus Jones, who would square up against Mike Wessel. Marcus is a massive man, who could no doubt tear most men apart, but he presents as a big kid, given the nickname Big Baby. So, the only question was does this guy have the killer instinct to compete in the UFC? Well, he didn’t until someone wrote a cartoon about him being a big baby, posted it on his door, and the read more...

The Ultimate Fighter 10 Episode 7

November 9, 2009

In episode seven of The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights, we learned just why Matt Mitrione is affectionately called Meat Head, or is he as dumb as he seems? With Team Rashad still in control of picking the fights, having won six straight fights, they selected to square off against Scott Junk with their own Matt Mitrione, the Meat Head. One morning, Matt drank his teammate Jon Madsen’s orange juice, which pissed this teammate off, and he said to someone that he’d like to slap Matt in the meat head, which got back to Matt, who was very unh read more...

The Ultimate Fighter 10 Episode 6

October 25, 2009

The most recent episode of The Ultimate Fighter may have set a record for the number of utterances of a single word in an hour of television. This word is one that could not be said on the air until Detective Andy Sipowicz started saying it on NYPD Blue. This word: Titties. Coach Rampage Jackson razzed a fighter on the opposing team, Darrill Schoonover, with this term of endearment over-and-over to the point where Darrill called Rampage a “bitch” and challenged him to a fight in Rampage’s 205 pound division. Now, let’s go over the facts read more...
