The Ultimate Fighter 10 Episode 9
November 23, 2009 by Matthew J. Swanson
Here’s what went down in the latest episode of Spike’s The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights.
- Rampage continues to play pranks, this time sneaking chickens into the opposing coaches’ cars, and they pooped all over their interiors. Surprisingly, Rashad and his staff saw the humor on it, shocking even Rampage, and the two rival coaches seemed to be actually getting along laughing and chasing after the farm animals.
- The always-annoying needy crybaby Matt Mitrione (how any NFL coach put up with this guy is something that astounds us) played up his head injuries from his previous fight, slumping over in the car like he was passing out. Most everyone in the house was pretty sure he was faking it, and sure enough, the doctor said he was just fine. Matt, if you’re going to keep pissing and moaning about all these phantom injuries, just leave the house and let someone who is eager to fight come back into the competition, like Kimbo Slice, who most agree has been working hard and learning more techniques than what he came in with. What he had before was the parking lot youtube video punch to the face, and now he reportedly has some ground game, and he is eager to prove his critics wrong.
- Two friends, Roy and Justin, had what was probably the most boring fight yet. Whether this is because the buddies didn’t want to knock each other’s blocks off could be part of it, but it was also because Roy took some hard shots from Justin early and then stayed away from Justin, who pooped himself out with his early swings. It’s surprising that the guy with the humongous gut appeared to have the better conditioning. Why this show has two round fights where they only go to the third round when it’s a complete draw is quite stupid. Neither guy was hurt in this fight, so if we’re seeing who is the ultimate fighter, let’s see these guys really fight, Spike.
- In case you missed UFC 105 for free on Spike on Saturday night, this writer’s favorite contestant ever on the reality show The Ultimate Fighter, Matt Brown, had a convincing win and a very strong performance, demonstrating a complete game, defeating James Wilkes with an aggressive series of ground-and-pound punches. If you’ll recall, he is the guy who did not take kindly with the prank of someone putting lemon juice into his chewing tobacco, so he beat the tar out of the guy who did it, fair and square in the octogaon.
- Be sure to watch another episode on Wednesday as the competition heats up, and be sure to come back here for another wrap-up!
